WHY “BRICKMOON”?
The name of our firm was inspired by Edward Everett Hale’s 19th century short story, “The Brick Moon.” The fictional tale describes the construction of a 200 foot sphere, made entirely of bricks, and its launch into the sky. Floating along, miles above the earth, the manmade “brick moon” intermingles with the natural heavenly bodies in space.
To us, a “brick moon” is an appropriate symbol of our architectural and design philosophy. We believe that architecture and design is man’s imitation of God (the Original Creator), and what we make is a reflection of all that God has made.
By creating as Creator God creates, we believe inspired, unique and wonderful designs emerge which both fit into creation, and reflect it as well.
