brickmoon / The Brickmoon

"The Brick Moon" is a short story written by 19th century author Edward Everett Hale. It is the fictional tale of the construction and launch of a sphere, 200 feet in diameter, built entirely of bricks. Floating in space, the man-made "brick moon" intermingles with the natural heavenly bodies.

A literal "brick moon" is a beautiful depiction of the philosophy of architecture and design. A brick moon is an object that is crafted by men to follow after the natural and good creation of God. Architecture is the practical expression man following God, creatively.

Brickmoon Design believes that by creating as Creator God creates, inspired, unique and wonderful homes emerge -- homes which both fit into creation, and reflect it as well.
